The Esterbrook pens are a very attractive American and grateful for the collector who wants to specialize in them, as there are many models, many different colors and are easy to find cheaply. I have the luck to have a good number of feathers from this brand models J, LJ and Dollar Pen.
As I suppose you know, had the peculiridad jib submitted unscrewed, thus facilitating the adaptation of the pen to the tastes of the buyer, as well as cleaning and repair, if necessary. Loading system was the lever, so it is also relatively easy to repair if it manages to find bags in good condition.
But they had a little problem: not tolerate heat well. This is what is the celluloid when it is not excessive quality and above all, when you are not providing adequate care. That must be the heat causing the curvature of the part that I show in the picture.
